Dear friends and colleagues of the Pedagogical Section
at the Goetheanum!

We warmly invite you to the «World Teachers' Conference», an international meeting that will take place at the Goetheanum from 10
th to 15th April 2023. It is being prepared by the Pedagogical Section in collaboration with the Hague Circle – the International Council for Steiner Waldorf Education – and is intended for teachers in Waldorf and Rudolf Steiner schools and kindergartens, executive board members and interested parents, as well as all educators interested in Rudolf Steiner's educational impulse.

Teamwork, exchange and research for colleagues from near and far are essential features of Waldorf education. In this sense it would be wonderful if at least one person from every Waldorf institution could attend the conference. Of course, there are many practical and financial hurdles on the way to Dornach; we would be happy to try to help you overcome them.

Below you will find practical information, an outline of the conference’s primary focus, and an article on the conference theme. The programme and registration form will be ready in a few weeks.

You will also find an invitation to participate in monthly Zoom meetings of the International Teacher Education Project (ITEP). This invitation is for people who are involved in the initial and further education of teachers and educators.
Please also note an announcement for the Alanus University lecture series, «Waldorf Work in Progress».

I wish you a stimulating read,

Philipp Reubke

Affirming – Nurturing – Trusting, an Education for Today and Tomorrow

What contribution can education make in shaping the common living space, in developing perspectives for the future?

At the World Teachers' Conference we would like to take up this crucial question. We believe that people who are interested in Steiner's educational impulse can indeed make such a contribution. But those who want to foster new abilities in children must also set out on a developmental path themselves and ensure that they can respond to the changing world. And the best way to do that is together. That is why we look forward to working together at the World Teachers' Conference 2023!

«Invitation to participate»

Teacher trainers have formulated a guide within the framework of the international project «International Teacher Education Project» (ITEP) with the focus on the training of Waldorf teachers as well as the qualities of trainers.

The group of authors hopes that with the 56-page guide «Pathways to Creativity in Education. Guidelines for the Training of Waldorf Teachers», the authors hope to stimulate a lively discussion and fruitful developments in the training of Waldorf teachers. Every month there is a Zoom conference for this purpose, where trainers from different countries discuss the themes and chapters of the text with each other.

The next meeting will take place on 21 September 2022, at 6pm (MET) on Zoom. Be part of it! Here you can find the «Invitation to participate» with the necessary information.
