The 11th World Teachers’ and Educators’ Conference will take place at the Goetheanum, in Dornach, Switzerland, from 18th to 22nd April 2022, beginning on Easter Monday. This will be the first such conference following the anniversary year, ‘100 years of Waldorf education’.
"Middle School in the Waldorf School,” an initiative group of the Pedagogical Section and the International Forum for Waldorf/ Steiner Education, has been working together for two years. The aim of the group is to explore current approaches to the development and methodology of the Middle
School.
The present contribution looks at leadership and at the ‘institution’ of faculty or college meetings with regard to the schools’ future
viability, because Waldorf Education is not only a fundamentally new educational impulse, it is also a fundamentally new social impulse. The education of the future, if it is to be healthy, will always have to have a social impact.
It is one of the good traditions of the Waldorf school movement out of responsibility towards children and adolescents to set off time and again to create places for learning and living for the education towards freedom. The living impulse is unchanging in founding and maintaining schools as a joint teacher and parent initiative, wherever and whenever possible. Just as it happened and continues to happen in a large part of the planet, in Argentina, since March 20, space has been confined and we are immersed in a continuous time, as a time detained in time. The parameters of reality changed. Reality appears cut out through infinity of fragments that arrive by multiplicity of different means. What is actually perceived?
It looks as if some form of remote learning and distance, online teaching will be with us in some form for a while. Therefore we have updated our advice based on our direct experience and what we have gathered through the Elewa course on this kind of learning and by garnering what experiences others have been having.
