Dear friends of Waldorf education,
dear educators and teachers,
With this newsletter we are sending you two more articles on the theme of the World Teachers’ Conference 2023.
Constanza Kaliks shows how the young child’s innate trust and affirmation of the world can only develop further if the adults also deepen their ability to relate: both to the child, and to the world.
In his article on the 4th lecture of the Foundations of Human Experience, Wolfgang M. Auer explains how the will of the child can develop strongly in the world above all when the adults help it to create bodily and spiritual possibilities of expression. Auer uses the image of «drawing channels so that the will can enter the world and make a difference there».
Here (at the bottom) you will find all the articles published so far in preparation.
The conference is fully booked. For all those unable to attend, there will beopportunities to follow the presentations on a livestream. We will send the log-in details with the April newsletter.
With warm regards from the Pedagogical Section,
Constanza Kaliks and Philipp Reubke
Education towards responsibility for a shared world
Education is a field of radical responsibility: society’s basic responsibility towards those who are coming into the world. Constanza Kalik's contribution to the «Freedom and Responsibility» lecture series.
Not only today, when we see immense efforts being invested in the development of intelligence, is the education of the will a central topic. It was as important a hundred years ago when the first Waldorf School was founded, and when Rudolf Steiner gave fourteen lectures to prepare the future teachers for their task. The fourth of these lectures focuses exclusively on the will.
Wolfgang-M. Auer, author, lecturer and long-time Waldorf teacher shows how education can support the will.
