Dear friends and colleagues,
With this issue of our
newsletter, we send to all of you best wishes for the Christmas and New Year period. We would like to thank you for your interest, solidarity and support of the Pedagogical Section at the Goetheanum. Many thanks also for the donations we have received this year.
The articles bring images of ideals with which we can particularly connect at Christmas time. Trevor Mepham's article on the November colloquium of the «Hague Circle - International Council for Steiner Waldorf Education» describes a «delicate and living web of connections and relationships» that the earth needs as a living being instead of the «dividers that separate heart from heart».
Nicolai Petersen's essay on «Thinking in words» deals with a «linguistic environmental awareness» and
the power of thought, which enables language not to separate us from each other, but to connect us. In a report of the colloquium on special needs education, Philipp Reubke writes about a «pedagogy that works wonders»: Sustained interest and study of the study of mankind and the resulting enthusiasm to meet the child.
