Dear artists, dear art lovers, information in English is provided below
mit dem diesjährigen Thema der Novembertagung Polaritäten und Mittebildung - Das Baumotiv des zweiten Goetheanum möchten wir ein zentrales Thema der Anthroposophie und des Kunstimpulses Rudolf Steiners aufgreifen, welches darüber hinaus eine zunehmende gesellschaftliche Aktualität hat. Dieses Thema betrifft die Wirkung von Polaritäten und die Bildung von vermittelnden Mitten. Mit dem Zentralmotiv des Goetheanum, Gegensätze zu verbinden und die Kraft der Mitte zu finden, hat Rudolf Steiner eine zentrale Fähigkeit für die Zukunft sichtbar gemacht.
Was ist das Geheimnis von diesem Baumotiv und warum war es Rudolf Steiner so wichtig, dass er es den Besuchern sinnlich erlebbar machen wollte? Dieser Frage werden wir mittels Plastizier- und Bewegungsübungen sowie Impulsreferaten nachgehen.

NEU: Hochschulwochenende der Sektion für Bildende Künste und Schöne Wissenschaften zur ersten Klassenstunde
Erstmals werden wir vom 16.-18. Oktober ein Hochschulwochenende beider Sektionen für Mitglieder der freien Hochschule für Geisteswissenschaft zur ersten Klassenstunde veranstalten. Wir werden das ganze Wochenende an der ersten Stunde arbeiten, eine freie und eine Stunde im Wortlaut, künstlerische Übungen und Gespräche haben. Wer Hochschulmitglied ist und teilnehmen möchte, möge das Programm bei Rea Vögtlin sbk@goetheanum.ch anfordern.

TERRA LUX / Bienenskulptur

Der neu erschienene Katalog "Terra Lux" ist die Dokumentation der begehbaren Skulptur für Mensch und Biene auf dem Goetheanum Campus. Sie beschreibt den Entstehungsprozess des Baus aus nachhaltigen Materialien von vor Ort und die Errichtung mit vielen freiwilligen HelferInnen. Der Prozess ist wunderschön bebildert und mit Skizzen der Gestalterin Barbara Schnetzler ergänzt. Des Weiteren beinhaltet der Katalog Texte zum Baugedanken(Barbara Schnetzler), der wesensgemässen Bienenhaltung (Johannes Wirz) und einer Beschreibung aus kunsthistorischer Sicht (Isabel Zücher).

Dear artists, dear art lovers,
with this year’s topic of the November conference of the Visual Arts Section Polarities and Forming the Center - The Building Motif
of the Second Goetheanum we would like to address a central theme of anthroposophy and Rudolf Steiner’s artistic impulse, one that is also becoming increasingly relevant in today’s society. This theme concerns the effect of polarities and the formation of mediating centers. Through the central motif of the Goetheanum—uniting opposites and finding the power of the center—Rudolf Steiner brought to light a key capacity for the future. In an enigmatic way, these polarities also shape the design motifs for the first and second Goetheanum, as well as their centerpiece, the wooden statue of the Representative of Humanity.
What is the secret behind this building motif, and why was it so important to Rudolf Steiner that he wanted visitors to be able to experience it with their senses? We will explore this question through modelling and movement exercises, as well as stimulating presentations. The comparison between the embryonic development of the human form, which the participants will explore through modeling exercises, and the building motif of the Goetheanum will be a central focus.

NEW: School for Spiritual Science Weekend of the Sections for Visual Arts and Literary Arts and Humanities on the First Class Lesson
For the first time, we are pleased to invite you to the School for Spiritual Science Weekend of both sections on the First Class Lessons, to be held October 17 and 18, 2026. We will spend the entire weekend working on the first class lesson, experiencing it in free rendering as well as through readings, shared reflections, and artistic exercises. Members of the School for Spiritual Science who wish to participate should request the program from Rea Vögtlin at sbk@goetheanum.ch.

The newly published catalog "Terra Lux" documents the walk-through sculpture for humans and bees on the Goetheanum campus. It describes the creation process of the sculpture, constructed from sustainable, locally sourced materials, and its erection with the help of many volunteers. The process is beautifully illustrated and supplemented with sketches by the designer, Barbara Schnetzler. Furthermore, the catalog includes texts on the concept behind the building (Barbara Schnetzler), bee-friendly beekeeping (Johannes Wirz), and a description from an art-historical perspective (Isabel Zücher).
