During the Agriculture Conference in February 2022, the editors Ueli Hurter, Martin von Mackensen, Rudolf Isler, Albrecht Römer and Hans-Christian Zehnter presented the new edition of the Agriculture Course. They especially addressed the topic of quality which is a key theme in the new edition of the course.

This course on associative economics in the farming and food industry is being developed by Ueli Hurter and Christoph Simpfendörfer, along with a number
of experts. How is agricultural production linked to processing, marketing and consumption? And, from a knowledge of the whole, what can associations contribute to working in solidarity while at the same time enabling our individual entrepreneurship to flourish? We analyze the company and the value chain for their associative elements, sit down at the round table and put agriculture in context with the world and the historical development of the economy.
This advanced course is aimed at individuals working in the areas of ecological/biodynamic agriculture and food production, trade and distribution as well as advisers and trainers. Participants should have relevant prior knowledge.

The course lasts four weeks in total, with a maximum weekly workload of 6h, of which a 3h 15min face-to-face. It is structured using various components and is designed in such a way that it can easily be attended on a part-time basis.
Practical exercises as well as self-study and peer group learning accompany and connect the regular live sessions during the four weeks of the course. More information will follow.

“Biodynamics & Anthroposophy” – online course in mandarin
After the launch of our first online course "Biodynamic Agriculture & Anthroposophy" last November, we received a request from the "MY BD Agriculture Academy" from Malaysia, if we could also offer this course for their students, with a Mandarin translation. We decided on the one hand, to conduct a "train the trainer" with the trainers and translators of the MY BD Agriculture Academy and, on the other hand, to be present for the students in Q&A sessions live at Zoom.
The course took place in January 2022 and was self-directed by the colleagues of MY BD Agriculture Academy, it focused on two topics: "Man and nature" and "Farm organism & farm individuality". A total of 130 students from Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Indonesia,
Brunei, Australia, and Singapore participated. Teoh Chin Tiong from My BD Agri-culture Academy in Malaysia suggests that the same model could be tried in other regions and other languages in the future so that more BD communities can benefit.

In 2019 the first International Biodynamic Training Conference was held in Dornach, Switzerland. The second Conference, to be held in 2022, aims to continue building networks of collaboration and communication among biodynamic trainers worldwide. As we are living in quite uncertain times, we are trying to develop new ways of collaborating around the world. This year's focus will be on raising awareness and
strengthening regional training initiatives. So, instead of one centralised conference, we are organising four regional workshops in each of the four continents (Asia, Africa, Europe, and America).
Each region will approach the overall theme of the conference “Learning Biodynamics as a path of transformation” according to local interests, needs and contexts. Each workshop will be designed to be a learning process in itself, and at the end of each workshop there will be an online contribution for sharing the results and discoveries to the whole international community of trainers.

As a society, as organizations and as individuals we find ourselves confronted with unprecedented challenges. The Goetheanum Leadership Courses are based on the assumption that these challenges require a new form of leadership, one that allows us individually and as members of a leadership team to step into new terrain and to find and implement a transformative vision.

This year's Agriculture Conference, which took place online from 2 to 5 February, developed into a journey of discovery on the way to a living quality. It became clear how living quality runs like a thread through all the stages of the process of producing our food – from the soil to the table. It also became apparent that quality is closely connected to ethics. For example, the question of how to improve animal welfare leads directly to better quality in the animal products. But
quality also needs to be perceived and appreciated. This in turn can lead to respect and appreciation of the beings who provide us with quality in our food and our lives: the soil, the plants and the animals.

Ueli Hurter und Christoph Simpfendörfer sowie verschiedene Expert:innen gestalten diesen Kurs zum assoziativen Wirtschaften in der Land- und
Ernährungswirtschaft.
Wie ist die landwirtschaftliche Produktion mit der Verarbeitung, dem Handel und dem Konsum verknüpft? Und was können Assoziationen dazu beitragen, aus der Erkenntnis des sozial Ganzen, solidarisch zu wirtschaften und gleichzeitig individuell unser Unternehmertum umzusetzen? Wir analysieren das Unternehmen und die Wertschöpfungskette auf ihre assoziativen Elemente, setzen uns an den runden Tisch und stellen die Landwirtschaft in den Kontext zur Welt und der historischen Entwicklung der Wirtschaft.
Der Vertiefungskurs richtet sich an Personen, die im Bereich der ökologischen/biologisch-dynamischen Landwirtschaft und der Lebensmittelproduktion, dem Handel oder dem Vertrieb tätig sind, sowie an Beratende und Ausbildende. Teilnehmende sollten bereits über Vorkenntnisse verfügen.

Vom 23. Mai bis 1. Juni 2022, montags und mittwochs um 13:30 Uhr MESZ, und vom 20. bis 30. Juni 2022, montags und donnerstags um 13:30 Uhr MESZ
Der Kurs dauert insgesamt vier Wochen, mit einem maximalen wöchentlichen Arbeitsaufwand von 6h, davon 3h 15min Präsenzzeit. Er kann problemlos in Teilzeit besucht werden.
Praktische Übungen sowie Selbststudium und Peer-Group-Learning begleiten und verbinden die regelmässigen Live-Sitzungen während der vier Wochen des Kurses. Weitere Informationen werden folgen.

Online-Kurs mit Teilnehmenden aus Malaysia
Nach dem Start unseres ersten Onlinekurses «Biodynamische Landwirtschaft & Anthroposophie» im vergangenen November erhielten wir eine Anfrage der «MY BD Agriculture Academy» aus Malaysia, ob wir diesen Kurs auch für ihre Studierenden anbieten könnten, mit einer Übersetzung in Mandarin. Wir beschlossen, zum einen ein «Train the Trainer» mit den Ausbilder:innen und
Übersetzer:innen der MY BD Agriculture Academy durchzuführen und zum anderen für die Studierenden in Q&A-Sessions live bei Zoom dabei zu sein.
Der Kurs fand im Januar 2022 statt und wurde von den Kolleg:innen der MY BD Agriculture Academy in Eigenregie gestaltet. Er konzentrierte sich auf zwei Themen: «Mensch und Natur» und «Farmorganismus & Farmindividualität». Insgesamt nahmen 130 Studierende aus Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Indonesien, Brunei, Australien und Singapur teil. Teoh Chin Tiong von der My BD Agri-culture Academy in Malaysia schlägt vor, das gleiche Modell in Zukunft auch in anderen Regionen und anderen Sprachen auszuprobieren, damit mehr BD-Gemeinschaften davon profitieren können.

2019 fand die erste internationale biodynamische Ausbildungstagung in Dornach, Schweiz, statt. In diesem Jahr folgt nun die zweite Konferenz, um den Aufbau von Netzwerken zwischen biodynamischen Ausbilder:innen weltweit fortzusetzen. Da wir in unsicheren Zeiten leben, versuchen wir neue Wege der Zusammenarbeit auf der ganzen Welt zu entwickeln. In diesem Jahr liegt der Schwerpunkt auf der Bewusstseinsbildung und der Stärkung regionaler Ausbildungsinitiativen. Anstelle einer zentralen Konferenz veranstalten wir daher vier regionale Workshops auf jedem der vier Kontinente (Asien, Afrika, Europa und Amerika). Jede Region wird das übergeordnete Thema der Konferenz «Biodynamik lernen als Weg der Transformation» entsprechend den lokalen Interessen, Bedürfnissen und Kontexten in einem Workshop gestalten. Am Ende jedes Workshops folgt ein Online-Beitrag, um die Ergebnisse und Entdeckungen mit der gesamten internationalen Gemeinschaft der Ausbilder:innen zu teilen. Als Gesellschaft, als Organisationen und als Individuen sehen wir uns mit noch nie dagewesenen Herausforderungen konfrontiert. Die Goetheanum-Leadership-Kurse basieren auf der Annahme, dass diese Herausforderungen eine neue Form der Führung erfordern. Dieses Angebot findet an sechs Wochenenden statt und behandelt jeweils einen anderen Schwerpunkt. Die Kurssprache ist Englisch.

Die diesjährige Landwirtschaftliche Tagung, die vom 2. bis 5. Februar online stattfand, entwickelte sich als Forschungsreise hin zur lebendigen Qualität. Dabei wurde erlebbar, wie sich die lebendige Qualität als Faden durch alle Stadien des Entstehungsprozesses unserer Lebensmittel zieht – vom Boden bis zum Esstisch.
Ausserdem zeigte sich, dass Qualität eng mit der Ethik zusammenhängt. Zum Beispiel führt die Frage, wie der Wohlstand der Tiere verbessert werden kann, direkt zu einer besseren Qualität der tierischen Produkte. Nehmen wir Qualität bewusst wahr, kann dies zu einer Anerkennung und Würdigung der Wesen führen, die uns qualitative Lebensmittel geben: der Boden, die Pflanzen und die Tiere.
