Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at the Youth Section!

Dear friends,

2018 has been a fantastic year, full of international encounters, projects and collaborations. To say goodbye to it, we have collected our highlights in the yearly report of the Section. This is currently only in German but it will be translated in the new year for those of you who want to access it. We hope you enjoy it!

There are many initiatives and projects continuing in the new year and coming up soon.

"Wishes are premonitions of the abilities that lie within us, harbingers of what we will be able to accomplish."

In this spirit we wish you a New Year full of energy for new strivings and initiatives!

Re-Search: The Spiritual Striving of Youth – Defining our Reality

The Youth Section at the Goetheanum’s research project that seeks to understand the questions, motivations and values driving today’s youth into a common future.
On the 15th of December we gathered at the Youth Research Colloquium in Dornach, where Constanza Kaliks and Andrea de la Cruz presented first findings of our qualitative study (Re)Search: The Spiritual Striving of Youth, Shaping our Reality.
Early in 2019 you will all receive a link to our first publication, which is currently being revised and getting ready for print. For now, take a look at last Saturday’s presentation and our latest article, published first in Anthroposophy Worldwide.
We are delighted that the project continues to spark interest around the world. There have been requests to present the findings in New Zealand, England, Belgium and the US and Canada. We are always open and happy to share our methodology and insights, so if you are interested in us coming to talk about it in your community, don’t hesitate to get in touch!

WALDORF ALUMNI WORLD FESTIVAL
and
QUESTIONS OF COURAGE: A NORTH AMERICAN YOUTH CONFERENCE

In the summer of 2019, there are two conferences converging in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada between August 7th and 12th. This unified event will mark a significant moment in history, and ignite a hopeful direction for the future. The two conferences will weave together and there will be opportunities to attend one or both.

WALDORF ALUMNI WORLD FESTIVAL
Join us for an inspiring festival that celebrates the past, present and future of Waldorf education, through music, art, storytelling, collaborative workshops, and fun excursions. We will engage the questions: How is the impulse of Waldorf education living now, 100 years later, and how does Waldorf education influence one’s individual path and development in the world?

QUESTIONS OF COURAGE: A NORTH AMERICAN YOUTH CONFERENCE
What are the questions that appear when the younger generation articulates what they are driven to ask: questions of courage?  What are the questions that form on the margins of the comfortable, full of life? It takes courage to grow up and become who we really are, this includes finding our own questions through explorations with one another.

Come to meet youth and young adults from around the world through conversation, workshops, presentations and art.
