The Round Table grew out of several encounters among young people in spaces surrounded by nature, music, openness, questions and curiosity. It began in 2023 by supporting travel to these encounters. In 2024, the idea emerged to collect money together to also support young initiatives in the form of the Global Access and Project Fund , and in 2026, this impulse became the Round Table Youth Fund.

Today, we are creating these conditions together — through trust, collaboration, shared responsibility, enthusiasm, joy and care. And also through sharing: bringing together resources, experiences and ideas, and learning from one another, so that young initiatives can grow and find their place in the world.

The Round Table is about trusting that an individual impulse, when supported by a community, can become a contribution to the world.

In our effort to strengthen our worldwide awareness, we gather online for quarterly meetings with Youth Section co-workers around the world. Our next call will take place on September 19th at 1:30 pm CET. 

The Youth Section in North America caught a heady wave of artistic fire this summer!

In Harlemville, New York, the artist scene around Free Columbia was thriving. In May, Free Columbia hosted an end-of-semester showcase of music, pottery, painting, fabrics, film, and more from its young artist residents. There were so many plays that one could not keep track of them all! NAYS created a Youth Section Initiative Fund, which received seven applications and distributed $1,600 to four, whose impact can be found documented on the website later this summer. In July, the Youth Section in North America hosted a fundraiser to support more initiative and travel funds, which made it possible for young people to get to where they needed to be and create what they envisioned. In antiquity, humans communed with the gods in the mysteries and brought their experiences to the stage. This has changed. Humans have descended into the material world alone. The path ahead is uncertain; the gods await us. Faust is a representative for all of us who have lost access to the spiritual world. Today, many people become trapped within themselves and cannot find a space to work and live in harmony with their inner impulses. 

In 2024 the Youth Section co-organized the "Youth Education Days" in the Netherlands with the Iona Foundation and the De Bildung Academie. This involved bringing together teachers and students in youth programs, colleges and learning centers to talk about youth pedagogy. Preparing for this I had conversations with leaders of youth programs and orientation years, inspired by aspects of anthroposophy, and I saw they were carrying a major pillar of the work of the Section. Looking around the circle in the Netherlands we saw we were carrying a common task. How could we better incorporate their wisdom and initiative into the Section? 

When my limbs stop growing, it's like there's a new place inside. I can give birth to a child and I can take up arms. I can choose. I understand the complexity of the issues in conversations with adults. My heart becomes a robe of shapes and colors. Rough here, there gently. My shyness torments me, joy enlightens me. I'm enchanted by beauty, frozen with fear. I'm angry about wrongdoing and falling in love. My memories are no longer photographic, but dramatic, personal. I have a growth pain when feeling and conscience are formed. Above my heart is a barrier, and beyond it I am. I'm wearing myself, but I'm loose. I download Instagram and lose a weekend of scrolling. My heart leads to my other me. That's tormenting me. I'm going to delete Instagram again. I listen deeply and empathetically. I speak from the heart and feel my toes. I keep faith in others and feel wisdom. In the diary, I testify. I give myself to my self, vow the future and loyalty to the ideals. The ideals tell me not what the world is, but what I could become. Beyond consistency, I seek authenticity. Who can I trust and how can I be trustworthy? How do I not sell myself as I get older?

Youth Initiative Africa was founded in 2024 during the youth workshop at one of the All-Africa Anthroposophic Trainings (AAAT) in Botswana. African youth felt the need to host a youth-led conference that would deepen their understanding of anthroposophy, not only as Africans but also as young people. The idea of creating a Pan-African youth movement arose from the small number of anthroposophists in individual African countries, making it important to connect, learn, and grow together across the continent.

Vom 1. August bis 7. September 2026 findet in Sulzburg und einem weiteren Ort in Süddeutschland ein Gesangsseminar statt. Geleitet wird es von Constanze Saltzwedel und Michael Lehmann. Gearbeitet wird nach der Methode der "Schule der Stimmenthüllung", mit Schwerpunkt auf Gesang und Stimmentwicklung.
Ein zentrales Projektziel ist die Beschäftigung mit Mozarts Oper "Die Zauberflöte", die im Verlauf des Seminars erarbeitet und schließlich auch aufgeführt werden soll. Die erste Woche ist als offene Kurswoche in Sulzburg geplant; danach folgen gezielte Proben für die Aufführungen, aufbauend auf den Vorerfahrungen.

Deepen and enhance your experience of the play, The Trial of the Soul in an intensive weekend conference preparing attendees to participate in the theatrical performance with attention and inner rigor. The conference will host a cognitive preparation for the play through keynote lectures delivered by Daniel Hafner. Moreover, a preparation for the life of feeling and will through conversation groups, and workshops in eurythmy, acting, writing, and visual arts. Most importantly, the events over the weekend will create a community of seekers embarking on this path towards the spirit together.

Cynefin: Communities of the Future is an intergenerational gathering being held on the Llyn Pennsula in North Wales. Question! Encounter! Play! is an inclusive arts learning program that aims to bring together young people from different places around the world through Anthroposophy and art.

In a week of creative collaboration, participants live and work at the Goetheanum Campus, creating a play from scratch, embodying in the process values of human dignity and community spirit.

Das Kunststudienjahr richtet sich an Menschen, die ihr Interesse für die Kunst erwecken, intensivieren und vertiefen wollen. In drei Trimestern, die auch einzeln besucht werden können, werden die Künste Architektur, Bildhauerei und Malerei auf der Grundlage der Anthroposophie und des Goetheanismus praktisch erkundet und durch anthroposophisches Grundlagenstudium vertieft.

Die AkBB (Akademie für Bewegung und Bildung) ist eine praxisorientierte Ausbildung zum Sport- und Klassenlehrer*in an Waldorf und Rudolf Steiner Schule. Die Studierende sind von Anfang an im Unterricht an der Schule mit dabei und werden in den 2 Jahren an der AkBB zunehmend eingebunden. Im dritten Jahr machen sie an der Freien Hochschule Stuttgart ihr Bachelor Abschluss. Die pädagogische Grundlagen werden erarbeitet und können direkt in der Praxis angewendet und überprüft werden. Eine breite Basis in allen sportlichen Bereichen und Klassenlehrerthemen wird gelegt und mit Fachleuten vertieft. Ein wesentlicher Teil der Ausbildung ist es, die Studierenden in ihrer Persönlichkeit zu stärken, so dass sie sicher im Beruf stehen können und auch den Anforderungen der heutigen Zeit sowie den Bedürfnissen der Kinder gewachsen sind. This is a new Youth Section initiative coming from the Threefold Youth House in Spring Valley, New York. We aim to host week-long symposiums, gathering young people from all over the world, in the spirit of the free school of spiritual science to ask: what kinds of science does the future need? how does the future inform art? what sort of social spaces does the future inspire? what type of academia? how can we bring anthroposophy into our practical work in the world? We aim to create a university mood, but one that is so similar to our day-to-day work that it is hard to distinguish from life itself. In other words, these will be spaces where our questions, ideas, and vocational selves can come to life in a grounded, research-based, practical way. Thus, spiritual striving becomes a substance for future livelihoods.
