On 21 June 2026, the
“Associated Office of the Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum, Egypt” was officially opened at the Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development in Cairo. The office strengthens the long-standing collaboration between the Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum, SEKEM, the Egypt Biodynamic Association (EBDA), and the Heliopolis University. It serves as a platform for biodynamic research, training, and knowledge transfer.
With the opening of the office, the team of the Section for Agriculture is also expanding: Fatma Abosamra takes on the role of Head of the Office in Egypt, coordinating projects, research activities, workshops, and networking with local partner organisations.
Gaudenz Hurter is also joining the team. With a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, specialising in Plant Sciences and Ecology, as well as practical experience in agriculture, he will co-lead the project “Biodynamics meets Agroforestry” together with Fatma Abosamra.

|
When it comes to a healthy diet, what we eat is crucial. But how we eat is at least as important. It is not just the food itself, but also our eating habits that play a role. It is clear that the time before and after a meal is particularly crucial.
A calm state of mind, as opposed to stress, influences how easily meals are digested and, consequently, gut health. Small rituals and a little mindfulness help to positively influence eating behaviour.
A mindful approach to meals begins with the quality of the food, encompasses table manners and eating habits, and extends to gut health, including the microbiome.

Am 21. Juni 2026 wurde das
„Associated Office of the Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum, Egypt“ an der Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development in Kairo feierlich eröffnet. Das Büro stärkt die langjährige Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Sektion für Landwirtschaft am Goetheanum, SEKEM, der Egypt Biodynamic Association (EBDA) und der Heliopolis Universität. Es dient als Plattform für biodynamische Forschung, Aus- und Weiterbildung sowie Wissenstransfer.
Mit der Eröffnung des Büros wächst auch das Team der Sektion für Landwirtschaft: Fatma Abosamra übernimmt die Leitung des Büros in Ägypten. Sie koordiniert Projekte, Forschungsaktivitäten, Workshops und die Vernetzung mit lokalen Partnerorganisationen.
Neu im Team ist ausserdem Gaudenz Hurter. Der Agronom mit Schwerpunkt Pflanzenwissenschaften und Ökologie sowie praktischer Erfahrung in der Landwirtschaft wird gemeinsam mit Fatma Abosamra das Projekt „Biodynamics meets Agroforestry“ leiten.

Für eine gesunde Ernährung ist es entscheidend, was man isst. Aber mindestens genauso wichtig ist es, wie man isst. Nicht nur die Lebensmittel, sondern auch die Esskultur spielen eine Rolle.
Dabei zeigt sich, dass gerade die Zeit vor und nach dem Essen ausschlaggebend ist. Ruhe beziehungsweise Stress beeinflussen die Bekömmlichkeit von Mahlzeiten und damit die Darmgesundheit.
Kleine Rituale und etwas Achtsamkeit helfen, das Essverhalten positiv zu beeinflussen. Ein bewusster Umgang mit Mahlzeiten beginnt bei der Qualität der Lebensmittel, umfasst Tischsitten und Essgewohnheiten und reicht bis zur Darmgesundheit einschliesslich des Mikrobioms.
