Dear friends of the Youth Section Worldwide

There are still some available spaces for our upcoming research school program. We are inviting those of you with questions and an interest in meeting other young people to learn and practice spiritual science to join an open call to learn more about this initiative. To participate, just send us an email telling us a little about yourself and why you are interested in this programme!

About the research school
The Youth Section's first Research School, inspired by the project (Re)Search, which since 2017 has been collecting testimonies of young people from around the world to result in a social study about the spiritual striving of youth. It is designed for young people aged 18 - 35 with an interest in research grounded on Anthroposophy. Through theory and practice, individual and collective work, we will articulate those questions that can get us started in a journey of discovery, where learning in wonder gives way to questions of morality in research. The all-encompassing theme of the pilot summer school will be "Research as Participation in the Process of Knowledge".

Details about the programme
Start of the programme: October 2021

End of the programme: First week of March 2022
The program includes:

- Monthly "grounding" sessions on diverse topics connected to the question of "Research as participation in the process of Knowledge."
- Study content (podcasts, reading material, questions, exercises)
- Peer & group work activities – ongoing
- Individual project – ongoing
- Support from the core team – online/ongoing via emails, Zoom, etc.
- Research weekend at the Goetheanum – in person 3-4 days (exact dates to be confirmed)

Themes & Content
- New perspectives in research: from academic life to living with our questions
- The ethics of method and the moral aspect of research: what values lie within the methods we use?
- Anthroposophy, spiritual science & Goetheanism: Rudolf Steiner’s legacy
- Developing Love, Devotion & Generosity in qualitative research
- Indigenous epistemologies and methods of research

Who is it for? How do I apply?
The school is open for young people of all backgrounds, regardless of previous academic experience. It is recommended for the curious, interested spirit who seeks answers to their questions and wants to find approaches that will lead them to unveil new mysteries as they emerge in their research.
