Architekturtagung / Architecture Conference at the Goetheanum October 13 - 15 October 2023 Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde der Sektion für Bildende Künste Dear friends of the Visual Arts Section (English translation below)
Im letzten Arbeitsjahr haben das erste Goetheanum und damit der Ursprung des anthroposophischen Kunst- und Architekturimpulses im Mittelpunkt unserer Aktivitäten gestanden. Dabei stellte sich die Frage, welche Bedeutung dieses Gesamtkunstwerk und der damit verbundene Kunstimpuls für unsere Zeit und unser eigenes Schaffen hat. Während der Architekturtagung «Neue Entwicklungen im Bereich Baumaterialien, Herstellung und Gestaltung» von Freitag, 13. bis Sonntag, 15. Oktober am Goetheanum werden wir den Blick radikal umwenden und uns fragen, welche neuen Fragen und Herausforderungen aus der Zukunft auf uns zukommen. Infolge der ökologischen Krise muss sich die ganze Baupraxis auf eine nachhaltige und zirkuläre
Herstellungsweise umstellen. Dazu kommen die neuen digitalen Entwurfs- und Herstellungstechniken, welche die Baupraxis revolutionieren und völlig neue Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten eröffnen. Bedeutet dies das Ende der organischen Gestaltung und des künstlerischen Schaffens, oder eröffnen sich gerade kostengünstige Möglichkeiten für eine plastisch-lebendige Gestaltung? Diesen Fragen werden wir während der Architekturtagung nachgehen. Eine Reihe ausgelesener Experten, die sich an der Spitze dieser Entwicklungen befinden, werden uns Einblick geben in den aktuellen Stand der Technik und eine Diskussion anregen. Beigefügt finden Sie den Flyer mit mehr Hintergründen und dem detaillierten Programm. Während der Sektionstagung von Freitag, 17. bis Sonntag, 19. November werden wir den Blick dann nach innen richten und uns fragen, mit welchen Themen jeder von uns in der eigenen Arbeit beschäftigt ist. Wenn wir diese individuellen Themen gegenseitig anschauen, welches Gesamtbild ergibt sich dann daraus und was sagt dieses aus über unsere Zeit? Wie räsonieren unsere Themen mit den inneren und äußeren Fragen der Zeit? Welche Rolle kann Kunst dabei spielen und welche Inspirationen die Anthroposophie dabei bieten? Wie schon im letzten Newsletter angekündigt, sind Sie eingeladen, im voraus eigene Themen einzubringen. Im Herbst werden Sie das definitive Programm dieses Treffen bekommen. Wir freuen uns sehr auf fruchtbare und inspirierende Begegnungen und wünschen Ihnen bis dahin noch eine schöne Sommerzeit! Dear friends of the Visual Arts Section During the past working year the first Goetheanum and with it the origin of the anthroposophical impulse for art and architecture have been the focus of our activities. The question arose of the significance of this total work of art and the associated artistic impulse for our time and our own work. During the Architecture Conference "New Developments in the field - Building materials, Production and Design" from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 October at the Goetheanum, we will radically turn our perspective and ask ourselves which new questions and challenges are facing us from the future. As a result of the ecological crisis, the whole building practice has to change to a sustainable and circular mode of production. On top of this, new digital design and fabrication techniques are revolutionizing building practice and opening up entirely new design possibilities. Does this mean the end of organic design and artistic creation, or are there precisely low-cost possibilities opening up for a sculptural, living design? We will explore these questions during the Architecture Conference. A number of experts who are at the forefront of these developments will give us insight into the current state of the technology and inspire a discussion. Attached you will find the flyer with more background information and the detailed programme. During the Section Meeting from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 November, we will then look inwards and ask ourselves what subjects each of us is dealing with in our own work. When we look at each other's individual themes, what overall picture emerges and what does this say about our time? How do our themes resonate with the inner and outer questions of the time? What role can art play in this and which inspirations can anthroposophy offer? As announced in the last newsletter, you are invited to contribute your own themes in advance. In autumn you will receive the definitive programme for this meeting. We are very much looking forward to fruitful and inspiring interactions and until then wish you a wonderful summer!
