In the spirit of Michaelmas - 29th September 2020, Dornach
"So that the Michael impulses can become reality, let us become one with the flame that is enkindled today. These impulses cannot become reality without flames. But to live and work out of the flames of enthusiasm, we ourselves must become the flame. Flame is the only thing that is not consumed by flame. When we feel ourselves becoming flames that cannot be burned by flames, we can afford to leave our physical hearts behind like empty sacks, because we will possess etheric hearts, hearts that understand that humankind is entering a new age and a life of spirituality."

Rudolf Steiner
(Extract from "The Life of the World Must Be Constructed Anew from the Ground Up", Arnheim, July 20, 1924. Found in "Youth and the Etheric Heart", GA 217a)
Dear friends, dear Youth Section Worldwide,

Today, many of us will be lighting an inner flame to celebrate Michaelmas and, through this gesture, we will be connected.

We can sense Michael very close to us in our current Youth Section work. He accompanies individuals who want to come together beyond their differences, to act in the world out of enthusiasm and a renewing impulse for the future. In our present times, it seems like we have to strive stronger than ever to keep our relationships alive, a task that often seems "dragon-like" to some, for relating to each other at this moment is a true challenge of the times.

For your efforts in keeping the flames alive, we want to share with you our deep feeling of gratitude: thanks to all of you who connect, either by writing, sharing reflections, joining video calls, visiting the house in Dornach or simply sparing a thought every now and then about the youth, and our spiritual striving. Thank you for sharing your stories, for your contributions towards future conferences and gatherings. Thank you for your impulses, ideas and creativity that shape our endeavours together. It is a true joy to be connected to you all.

This evening, a group of us will meet at the Youth Section House in Dornach to cook dragon bread and soup (it will be warm!). At 6:30pm we will read together the last lecture given by Rudolf Steiner on the 28th of September 1924 (GA 238 Karmic Relationships, Vol. IV). We wish to invite you to join us in presence, or in spirit from your own location, and accompany us in this study.

In the spirit of Michaelmas, we wish that today you can find a moment of courage and inner strength to warm your will forces and connect with your tasks, wherever you are in the world.

Receive our warmest greetings for this special time of the year,

The Youth Section at the Goetheanum's Team
Andrea de la Cruz, Ioana Viscrianu, Johannes Kronenberg
with Constanza Kaliks.
