AN INVITATION!
(Re)Search Colloquium 2019

What we need now is a commitment, people who are willing to commit for the common good, which at the end of the day is the same as committing to oneself, isn’t it?

A WARM INVITATION TO

The Youth Section (Re)Search Colloquium

Saturday 7th December
from 09:30 until 16:00 at the Goetheanum Library

Dear friend,

Are you a young person longing to share your views about the world, life, our future? How often do you feel you have the space and time to think about the important questions of our time? Are you someone interested in hearing from young people's voices what reality looks like to us, the younger generations? Would you like to step into a courageous process of self-reflection and initiative accompanied by the Youth Section's research team?

If any of these questions resonate with you, then you might want to register for our Saturday colloquium at the Goetheanum. The event is free of charge and it will be a mix of presentations on our research project's insights, and facilitated conversations on some of our key questions (youth commitment, freedom, challenges, our future)

WHAT IS OUR RESEARCH ALL ABOUT?

The Youth Section at the Goetheanum's research project is about shining a spotlight on being young today in our world. For two years now we have been interviewing and holding spaces for 18-35 year olds to raise their voices about what matters to us and what motivates our actions. We have been asking you: what will the world look like in the future if what lives within you becomes real? What will you do to make that future come about? We would like to share some of our observations with you this next Saturday, as well as ask you some new questions. Here's what will happen:

PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY

09:30 Welcome and intro to (Re)Search by Dr. Constanza Kaliks
09:45 Presentation of latest insights by Ioana Viscrianu and Andrea de la Cruz
10:30 Questions for the team
11:00 Coffee & Snacks
11:30 Focus Groups - facilitated conversations around central topics of the research by the Youth Section team (Ioana Viscrianu, Andrea de la Cruz, Johannes Kronenberg and Rocio Ferreira)

14:30
Focus Groups (continuation)
15:45 Coming together and closing

ABOUT PREVIOUS (RE)SEARCH EVENTS
"In the interview I experienced a lot. I was touched by the power of silence and the connection without any words" (Re)Search workshop attendee

The insight into what lives within the youth of today was invaluable, sparking many interesting topics of conversation. It was wonderful meeting other young people passionate about Anthroposophy and what it brings to us as human beings".
Evan, young artist and designer, 2018 (Re)Search Colloquium attendee

"One of the biggest things I learnt was to make contact with other people through the conversation subjects that really matter do them. These very personal subjects open doors to bigger ones. I learnt that giving space is more important than the things I want to say in that moment. That i'm able to give one hour of attention to someone felt good, but that the other felt really seen was much more beautiful" (Re)Search methodology workshop participant
WHO IS IT FOR?

Everybody of all ages is welcome to attend the colloquium and bring their questions with them. We also welcome other people interested in initiating their own research projects! If you would like to hear about a specific theme/insight, you can contact the team in advance to help us tailor the content to your project, organisation or ideas.

The presentation and conversation groups will be in English, with possible translation into German and Spanish - depending on the participants needs.

ORGANISING YOUR VISIT

Participants are welcome to stay at the Youth Section House before and after the colloquium. The kitchen is open for those wishing to continue the conversations and cooking together! To reserve a bed in our house email house@youthsection.org.
